In 2019, Mr. Emilio Mínguez was awarded the prestigious Jan Runermark Award . The Jan Runermark award, granted by the European Nuclear Society-Young Generation Network (ENS-YGN), recognizes a senior professional who has demonstrated during his professional activity that he has provided an outstanding service, for the benefit of the young generation and young professionals of the sector.
Emilio has developed, from his teaching and research side at the Polytechnic University of Madrid, a brilliant career in the nuclear sector. Emilio is a Doctor of Industrial Engineering from the Higher Technical School of Industrial Engineers of Madrid (UPM), Professor of Nuclear Technology and current Director of the ETSII. His entire career has been and is related to teaching and research in the nuclear sector. From his work as a teacher and researcher, Emilio has trained hundreds of students in nuclear science and technology who today lead the Spanish and international nuclear sector. Similarly, Emilio has provided incalculable personal and institutional support to the Young Nuclears. To highlight its great role in the development of the Advanced Reactors Seminars and the Nuclear Fusion Seminars, which are a benchmark for training in this field. Also noteworthy is his role as former vice president and founding member of theEuropean Nuclear Education Network (ENEN), which contributes to the training in nuclear science and technology at a European level for hundreds of young nuclear people.
