ENS YGN believes that Nuclear is part of the solution.
Just a few months before the COP21 conference, the European Nuclear Young Generation Forum held in Paris from June 22nd to 26th 2015 tackled climate and environmental issues. The role of nuclear energy to fight climate change, its impact on the environment, its adaptation to new markets… were presented during the event by high-level speakers and discussed during the different workshops and technical sessions.
The European forum was the opportunity for the representatives of the 19 European Young Generation Networks to read and sign, in front of the 360 participants coming from 27 different countries, the position paper they have been working on for months in the frame of the Nuclear for Climate initiative. The key messages of this paper are that nuclear is part of the solution to fight climate change and that COP21 is a unique opportunity to develop internationally a low-carbon society in which nuclear power will have a key role to play.
